What is Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops?

Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops contains the active ingredient Fennel extract (Foeniculum vulgare) and is clinically proven to help relieve infant colic and griping pain from birth onwards. It is sugar, alcohol and colourant free.
Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops comes in a Euro dropper for hygienic and safety administration, to make it easy to give to your baby.

From what age can I give Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops?

Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops can be used from birth onwards, unlike gripe waters, which are only suitable for babies of 1 month old, or over.

How much Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops do I need to give to my baby?

• 0 – 6 months: 4 to 5 drops.
• 6 – 12 months: 5 to 6 drops.
• Drops should be given before feed.
• The drops dispenser directly to the baby’s month towards the inner cheek.
• Alternatively use a teaspoon or oral dispenser to dispense slowly into mouth.
• Each treatment may be repeated once every 60 minutes for up to 4 times, or as directed by a physician.
• Do not exceed 20 drops total dose per day.

How often can I use Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops?

Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops can be used as often as required, before feed, do not exceed 24 drops total dose per day.
Maximum Daily dose: 12 mg/kg/day of fennel seed extract.

Can the drops be used over a long period of time?

Yes. However, if the symptoms persist you should talk to your health visitor or doctor.

How can I tell if my baby has colic?

Your baby may have colic if they cry continuously for no specific reason and you are unable to comfort them. Colic most commonly occurs in the late afternoon and evening; your baby will cry out in pain and may draw their knees up to their chest and go red in the face. Their tummy may be swollen or bloated as if they have swallowed a lot of air, and they may pass wind more than usual.
Symptoms not associated with colic include diarrhea, vomiting or a raised temperature (over 38° C / 100° F).  lf your baby suffers from any of these or if you are uncertain whether your baby is suffering from colic you should consult your health visitor.

What is the cause of infant colic?

Despite medical research, no one is certain what causes infant colic. A likely explanation may be the build-up of trapped wind in your baby’s bowel that cause colic, which may cause them to cry out in pain and discomfort.

Can colic be prevented or avoided?

You can’t prevent or avoid your baby from being colicky.

What can I do to help ease my baby’s colic?

Try giving your baby Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops, which is clinically proven to treat colic from birth onwards. You could also try to soothe your baby by rocking her gently or taking her out for a walk in a pram. As babies are not the same, they will respond to different techniques, so try various methods to comfort your baby and see what works best for you.

Are the symptoms of colic and lactose intolerance the same?

Whilst there are some similarities between the symptoms of colic and lactose intolerance – it is important to note that the main difference is that the baby with lactose intolerance suffers from diarrhea. The osmotic pressure generated by lactose and lactic acid in the stomach produces an influx of water leading to a swollen abdomen and acidic diarrhea.
If you suspect your baby may be suffering from lactose intolerance, contact your health visitor.

Do the Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops contain lactose?

There’s no lactose in our Anti-Colic Drops.

Do they contain aspartame?

No, we don’t use aspartame.

Do they contain gluten?

No, they’re gluten-free.

Do they contain any ingredients derived from animals?

No, they don’t contain any ingredients derived from animals.

Do they contain sugar?

No, There’s no sugar in our Anti-Colic Drops.

Can you use the drops if your baby is suffering from liver disease?

There are no contra-indications (known medical reasons not to use the medicine with a baby with liver disease). But it’s always best just to check with your doctor first if you have any concerns.

How should Ditamin Anti-Colic Drops. Be stored?

• Store at room temperature (not above 25°C).
• Keep away from direct sunlight.
• No refrigeration needed after opening the bottle.
• Keep this and all medicines safely out of the reach of children.
